The World of the Garlic Derby

Post  Kitai on Sat Jul 10 2010, 14:58

(for the Main Plot)
G.A.R.L.I.C:
Gifblaar + Aconite + Rhubarb + Laburnum + Ivy + Caladium = G.A.R.L.I.C (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_poisonous_plants)
It is dried and then packed in crates marked "dried garlic." Real garlic is put in around it as the poison is packaged to look the same. It is not easily pulled by the cops since drug dogs don’t smell it thanks to the fact that it is made of natural ingredients.

THE CONSPIRACY:
The FBI leader, Be’lakor (aka. Blackheart), is conspiring against the President and Vice President (like the CIA supposedly did against Kennedy) in order to get one of their own (the Speaker of the House) into power. They plan on using a specially formulated poison, G.A.R.L.I.C, one which didn't have an antidote, to kill them. However, Lumin's father found a cure and he, his research team, and most of his family was killed. The reason being it would ruin everything if the cure were made public for they planned to lace a drink not a bullet. It would be less conspicuous this way, but easier to heal if the antidote was made public. Apollos, a surviving member of the research team, is now the only one who knows the cure.

(In General)
THE GANGS
The Pans:
Slogan: Umbra de Urbs
Leader: Ohanzee "Zee" Jadis
The Pans run the southern part of town and the park. Their clan colors are green and brown and they enjoy the night life, frequenting clubs and dance halls. They are famed for their love of the arts, especially song and dance and have paid for quite a few buildings around the city, thus broadening their sphere of influence. Though they are hostile towards the Feds, they are still willing to work with them for proper payment normally in the form of cash or prison bail for gang members. Overall they are the least violent of the gangs.

The Griffins:
Slogan: Aquila Vires
Leader: Jamal Talon
The Griffins are the strongest gang but not the largest. They are self assured and have a fairly large territory in the east and south east parts of the city. They are not a very violent gang, just defensive, but this defensiveness is constantly put to the test thanks to the Pards and Haunts.

The Pards:
Slogan: Furtim de Pardus
Leader: Namir Keir
The Pards rule to the north and are a bloodthirsty and violent gang, beating on members and non members alike. Their initiation ceremony for a member normally involves mutilating or killing someone else, either a hit job from the gang leader or killing a member of the gang. They have a high ruler but this top pard, known as the Panther, can be killed at any time and usurped by another. The gang runs on an “all for one’s self” motto where alliances are formed only to further one’s standing and can be broken at any time. They are constantly fighting with their neighboring gangs, the Haunts and the Griffins.

The Haunts:
Slogan: Ops Obsideo
Leader: Be'lakor "Blackheart" Delano
The Haunts rule to the west and center and are a violent gang where beating on particularly younger members to show rank is not uncommon. They are spread throughout the social ladder from Speaker of the House to the bottom where each Haunts uses his job to further the gang, (such as a judge letting a pack member slide). The leader is the 'pack leader’ and has often both a male and female beta by his side. The male beta is the one that is next in line for the leadership position and is picked out by the leader. The female beta is often the pack leader’s mate or the one he wants to be his mate. Females have the lowest rank in the Haunts. A low ranked male can always tell a female what to do, with slight exception for the female beta. The very lowest ranked members, normally teens (often runaways) are called "pups" and are often the ones that are sent out to do the dirty work, such as minor break-ins or standing guard. Many don’t live to pass their "pup years". The Haunts rivals are the Pards and the Griffins and the three are constantly fighting over boarders.
